Some of the most inspiring and highly recommended wedding venues in the area are;
Among the many romantic settings for weddings is the fabulous Rushton Hall Hotel. The imposing and princely residence was built in the fifteenth century with local store. It passed from the hands of Sir John Tresham’s family to the Cackagne family in the seventeenth century. The entrance itself is stately and grand with heavy doors of timber. Above it sits a figure in stone of Plenty and on either side an armed knight is carved. Rushton Hall was purchased in 1828 by William Williams, a resident from Amsterdam, to stay in during the shooting seasons. He held the famous Hope diamond here when he owned it. The Hall was then bought by Clara Thornhill Thorpe who was a good friend of Charles Dickens, who visited her here very often. What better place to have a wedding than in this historic and beautiful Hall which is now converted into a gorgeous Grade 1, 4 star and two rosette hotel. The beauty of this place surrounded by history makes it ideal to hold Kettering Weddings.
Boughton House is an amazingly interesting place to have a wedding in. The house has been called the “English Versailles” because of the French character of the house. The Boughton House is set in a sprawling 1000 acre estate and has become even more famous now because it was a location for the shooting of the film, ‘Les Miserables’. The site is truly a remarkable location for Kettering wedding photography.
The Great Hall in the House is a great venue for weddings. It is also a documentary wedding photographer’s delight because of the great art work in it and the exquisite painting on the ceiling of the ‘Apotheosis of Hercules’. It has a Grand Colonnade where a wedding could be held in the open with the protection of the ceiling.
The beauty of Boughton House is enhanced by the quaint lily pond, the beautiful church, several courtyards and the rose garden. All these are exquisite settings for photographers. It becomes an idyllic venue for a wedding.
Ritz Banqueting and Conference Suites, Kettering
A more contemporary setting for weddings would be the Ritz Banqueting and Conference Suites. This venue in the Midlands is not only for English weddings but also made suitable for Asian weddings too. With its awe-inspiring Swarovski crystal chandelier as a centre piece and mood lighting with LEDs, it is a wedding photographer’s dream. It is also complete with carved wooden mandaps for Hindu weddings and an entrance display.
This park is a tourist attraction in Kettering. It has a huge lake and some birds and wildlife. What is interesting is the roller coaster kind of rides that have been added. A fun train ride is available through the park. The latest addition here is the “Celebration Suite” which is the renovated St George’s Suite. It is ideal for wedding celebrations. The beautifully manicured pavilion garden is great for wonderful photo opportunities during a wedding. Any Wedding Photographer in Kettering would enjoy a wedding here.
The venues covered above are suggested keeping in mind the fact that location plays an integral role in wedding photography and as a professional photographer, I can easily regard these venues as being “truly photogenic”
