The wedding of Nicola & Lawrence was a beautiful Northern Irish wedding, with all the men decked out in traditional Kilts, Sporrans and Gillie shirts. It was certainly a wonderful atmosphere, perfect for my style of wedding photography. The wedding itself took place in a quaint Greek Orthodox Church which certainly left me with a challenge as far as lighting was concerned. With a bright source of light directly behind and just behind the couple’s, right coming from the door, this church did not afford me the ideal conditions for producing great photography. However, with a bit of fiddling with settings and a little work on the computer afterwards, I believe, the unfavourable lighting conditions made for some, lovely, dramatic imagery. It was my first time at this church and I would love to go back. It was beautiful!
The rest of the evening was spent at a cliff bar overlooking a stunning bay. The sun was going down and the light became very dim which presented new challenges for me to overcome. I love working with available light and these low-light conditions were fantastic! I managed to create several images just by the light of a candle alone, which for me, have a spectacular atmosphere and a glowing warm feel to them. This is one of my specialities and something I look forward to as a wedding photographer.
