Primrose Hill Farm Wedding Photography in Warwickshire

Wedding Photography at Primrose Hill Farm is an absolute treat! Nestled on the side of Edgehill, not far from Stratford-upon-Avon, Primrose Hill Farm has incredible views right across the Warwickshire countryside. It is simply stunning!

Love Story

1) Please tell me how you first met?

Phil and I met at our mutual friend’s wedding, Daisy (one of the best men) and Adam in August 2015. I was living in New York at the time and had flown back for their big day the day before. We didn’t really speak at the rehearsal dinner as Phillip got incredibly drunk! We were sat next to each other at the reception when we struck up a conversation….mainly Phil asking me if he could eat my starter if I wasn’t eating it. Throughout the evening I ended up propping up the bar with his mother and after a few jaeger bombs and her falling into the giant Mr & Mrs signs, we felt it was time to take her home. We toured the streets of London trying to find her hotel and when returning back to the wedding finished our night dancing. The rest…as they say is history. During my 2 week visit home, Phil and I saw each other as much as we could and became an official item at my friend Helen and Nick’s BBQ just before I flew back to NYC.

2) When was it you knew they were the one?
The day after the wedding, we had a day date in London. After lunch to cure our hangover, we took a walk across the Millennium Bridge. We stopped to have a quick kiss and Phil asked if he could stay in London with me and take me out again. I think it was at this point for each of us we realized that this was something different and special. We have a picture of the Millennium Bridge in our living room to mark this very moment.

3) Could you give us the story of the proposal?
It was my birthday! I had just left my job at Barclays in London to start at Jaguar LandRover in Coventry….truly cementing us shaping life in the midlands together. He initially was going to do it with my parents there, but a delay in their journey down to our house threw his plans into turmoil. With a very unhappy birthday girl (as he hadn’t bought any presents or a card) Phil had to think quick on his feet. He suggested to go to Kenilworth for a mini pub crawl before meeting my friends and eventually my parents for dinner. We pulled int the Kenilworth Castle car park and as soon as I stepped out of the car he dropped down on one knee. If I am honest I had a suspicion it was coming, but still none the less overwhelmed with happiness when he did it.
The fact that he had planned it so my parents could be there, rather than on our holiday which he had originally wanted was unbelievably thoughtful.

4) If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me something quirky, funny or silly about your partner?
He does some very funny impressions of animals, including cats and honey badgers.

5) What is your perfect day together?
Sailing around Santorini on a catamaran with delicious food and wine, watching the sunset go down

6) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
I am looking forward to getting ready with some of my favourite girls and my mum and Phil are looking forward to celebrating with all of our friends and family.

7) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
I really like natural and rustic – it’s also very simple and easy to pull together. We have a little fox theme purely down to Phil owning a stuffed fox called Marcus. When we moved in together he bought me a Mrs Fox…..so we decided to have a little Fantastic Mr Fox theme running through.

8) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process, that you could pass on to future bride’s reading this blog?

That all the little details like place names, chair covers, the bridesmaids matching, the grooms tie being the same colour theme as the bridesmaids – just doesn’t matter. Focus on the big things, the important things…don’t sweat the small stuff.

9) When searching, what were you were looking for in a wedding venue?

We had initially thought about Yorkshire but then wanted to make sure that leading up to the wedding we weren’t travelling for hours each weekend so started to look locally. With the Cotswolds on our doorstep that was an easy choice for us. We both really liked a barn theme as it was romantic but also with a relaxed feeling. I did a lot of research and scheduled some visits. We had 3 visits in one day and Primrose Hill Farm was our final one. As soon as we met JJ and he gave us a tour we both knew this was the one. Not only is it a beautiful location but JJ is unbelievably helpful and to be honest, knowing we were in his safe hands was the deciding factor.

10) Could you tell me the process you went through when you were looking for a wedding photographer?

We started to explore the photographers who had been used by Primrose Hill Farm previously, a couple of them were already booked on our wedding date but had recommended Duncan Cox (and Joanne). Having looked at the website, I really liked the relaxed style and the quality of the shots. Luckily you were both available.
