Watching Arida & Andy get married at Warwick House the other day was both an amazing and surreal experience for me. Amazing because I was lucky enough to watch someone I used to hang out with as a teenager say I do! Surreal because I have been photographing weddings for just over 10 years now and I am very much used to not knowing anyone at the wedding. Photography can be a very solitary business but being able to catch up with my old buddies, while I was working, was fantastic. Having the pleasure to photograph the wedding at such a gorgeous venue like Warwick House certainly made the day even better. I was well looked after and even got dessert! I know right!?
I wish you all the best for the future Adria & Andy… Congratulations! 🙂
1) Please tell me how you first met.
In a cafe in Leamington nearly 5 years ago
2) When was it you knew they were the one?
Nothing particular, just the fact that we fitted so well together & always seemed to be laughing with each other.
3) Could you give us the story of the proposal?
It was a total surprise for me. We were on holiday in Central America and arrived for a night on an island off Belize. We had a chance to go snorkeling on the reef with sharks & stingrays which I jumped at the chance to do but Andy didn’t seem keen, said he got sea sick & would hang out on the island instead. Little did I know he was plotting for later! That evening we went on a sunset cruise in a small sailing ship, as the sun was setting Andy passed by a small woven basket, the type they made on the island, and said he’d bought it for me. When I opened the lid, there was a diamond ring! And the crew opened a bottle of champagne, that he’d dropped off with them earlier in the day whilst also telling them what he was going to do. I think it’s the most romantic thing that’s ever happened to me!
4) If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me something quirky, funny, or silly about your partner?
Andy does suffer from getting Hangry (Angry when hungry), so he always makes sure he has emergency snacks!
5) What is your perfect day together?
That will be in Sri Lanka on our honeymoon I’m sure ?
6) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Spending time with family & friends
7) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
Purple is my favorite color, simples
8) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process, that you could pass on to future bride’s reading this blog?
Lists, lists & lists

Having it all to ourselves
10) Could you tell me the process you went through when you were looking for a wedding photographer? …also if you could add how/why you came to settle on Duncan Cox Photography?
