Wedding photography at Kilworth House Hotel in Leicestershire is always an absolute joy. This venue oozes with class and its stunning, old english oppulence, sets it apart from most other wedding venues in England. Everything about Kilworth House makes my job so easy, as every direction I point my camera, there is a wonderful background. When you couple this with warm, friendly and not forgetting, lively guests, you have all that is needed for fantastic wedding photography. Kathryn and Bailey were an amazing couple and I wish them all the best for their future together. Congratulations!!
1) Please tell me how you first met? The what, when, where’s and how’s?
We met whilst working at the same secondary school, and got talking after a staff night out at the German market in Birmingham.
2) When was it you knew they were the one? Was is something in particular they did?, Did they grind you down? (joke) etc.
Kathryn knew when she introduced me to her family and I got on well with them; I was even let off for hurling red wine across her mum’s living room (accidental drop – should NOT have tried to catch the glass). Bailey knew when Kathryn willingly (even enthusiastically) stood on a freezing cold touchline supporting the football team he coached.
3) Could you give us the story of the proposal? Please leave out no details… (Was it a surprise?, Was it elaborate?, How did it make you feel?)
I proposed to Kathryn in Hanoi, Vietnam. There was something magnified in translation with the staff at the hotel, and as a result the proposal was VERY elaborate indeed! I asked them to arrange for us to have a romantic meal in the restaurant so that I could propose there, and for them to put some flowers in our room for us. They CLOSED the restaurant to the public, designed a 7 course menu for us and covered our room in roses, balloons, champagne and candles!
4) Please share what you most love about each other?
We said the same thing for this one; we are able to work exceptionally close to one another, live together and spend the vast majority of our spare time together without falling out, getting bored or failing to have fun and enjoy each other.
5) What is your perfect day together? (apart from the wedding day)
Having an uninterrupted/unplanned day to chill; walking to the pub or having a BBQ before watching a film and a snuggle on the sofa.
6) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
We are having a cake of cheese – THAT!
7) There are so many different wedding styles you can choose from. What is your favourite wedding trend at the moment?
We don’t really look at them; we just want everyone to be happy and comfortable.
8) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
Bright colours!
9) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process?
The amount of meetings you have to arrange/attend!
