A stunning Laughern Hill Estate wedding near Worcester

As I have only been in the area for a year, I have had to get used to travelling a little bit to the venues near to where I used to live. Being a Worcestershire wedding photographer, it was lovely change from the norm to be able to travel just down the road to Laughern Hill Estate. A half an hour from home is pure luxury to me!! Ha ha!
Working with Laura and Dan on their wedding day was an absolute breeze. I arrived with Laura to photograph her getting ready and you hardly have known she was about to be married. Nothing fazed her! Which, I have to say, I find very impressive considering the magnitude of the of day. Their wedding was blessed with gorgeous sunshine and fluffy clouds which was a massive stroke of luck being their whole wedding was outside. So they could not have been more fortunate with how perfectly everything turned out. There was mini-Golf, Connect Four and big Jenga which get the guests entertained, which in turn kept me entertained as I watched.
From the outside looking in, it was a plain to see how well suited Laura & Dan were. As the saying goes, they were like two peas in a pod and I am absolutely positive that 50 years down the line they will still be going strong!

Their Love Story

1) Please tell me how you first met? The what, when, where’s and how’s?
We met at university in Swansea, pretty much on the first day but we were friends for 6 months before we started going out.

2) When was it you knew they were the one? Was is something in particular they did?, Did they grind you down? (joke) etc. etc.
After we started living together during our second year at uni, but there isn’t really a particular moment for either of us when we knew.

3) Could you give us the story of the proposal? Please leave out no details… (Was it a surprise?, Was it elaborate?, How did it make you feel?)
Dan proposed on our holiday in florida, 3 years ago. We went for a walk along the beach at sunset, I’m a sucker for a good sunset. I had no idea.

4) Please share what you most love about each other?
Laura – This one is a really hard one to answer, because he is just who he is – he takes care of me, he makes me laugh, he’s my best friend.

Dan – I love Laura because she is a lovely person, kind, selfless and supportive. She is beautiful, intelligent and funny. We share the same sense of humour and interests meaning we get on very well and miss each other’s company when apart.

5) If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me something quirky, funny or silly about your partner? Little habits, something they do…
Dan – Laura has her own theme tune. Whenever she’s thinking or there’s a gap in conversation she starts to hum it. Its both annoying and adorable.

Laura – I can’t seem to think of anything for Dan I’m sure he has some but other than eating his dinner in a particular order nothing comes to mind.

6) What is your perfect day together? (apart from the wedding day)
Hopefully one of the days on our honeymoon- one with sun, a beach, no work and definitely some lovely food.

7) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Seeing friends and family …and the mini golf

8) There are so many different wedding styles you can choose from. What is your favourite wedding trend at the moment?
Al fresco – lets hope the weather is nice!

9) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
We wanted to go for a relaxed garden party feel, originally we wanted a very small wedding with just close friends an family so that the day was less formal than a traditional wedding. Hopefully we have still managed to keep it relaxed with the numbers we have.

10) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process?
Have a clear idea of what you want at the start and stick to it.
