Stunning Wedding Photography at Kateshill House in Worcestershire

I, a Worcestershire wedding photographer, was lucky enough to experience Kateshill House, Bewdley for the first time recently. It was made all the more special by the group of people having a wedding there. Sometimes, when you get a lively and atmospheric group and an amazing venue, it can turn into something extremely special. I had such a good time with such a chilled, but lively couple, I almost forgot this was a job and that I was working.
I also had the pleasure to meet Brooke from Abacus Hair. She did such a great job and was fun to work with. Obviously this is a great combination! haha!
I cannot end my part of the blog without mentioning magnificent tree at Kateshill House! It is truly a sight to behold. I have never seen something quite like it… So I am told, it is one of the top 50 trees in the UK. See if you can spot it below.

Their Love Story

1) Please tell me how you first met? 
We first met when I was 15 and I wanted some alcohol for a party I was at. I was friends with his friend and it was a cold December night and I text and asked Moz (our now best man) to get us some. We went to meet them and that night he told one of my friends how he liked me. Things just went on from there.2) When was it you knew they were the one?
I think after being together 9 years it’s hard to put a time and place on when we knew we were the one for each other.3) Could you give us the story of the proposal?
We were in Cornwall one of our favourite places and our best friends Kate and Lou (bridesmaid and bestman) had been with us for the weekend, it had been such a good weekend, we’d seen them off after scones in charlestown we then went back to our cottage. Ed sat on the floor and said I love you… I thought we’ve only just eaten what does he want now, he then popped out a ring box., with it being leap year I started to smile thinking what a joker he then opened it and asked me to marry him!4) If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me something quirky, funny or silly about your partner?
Ed likes to tell jokes and lies that are believable and then say I’m only joking. Which I have to say is funny but also annoying.
Grace Likes to talk in silent situations and will also talk about her day at work over dinner, with her working in A&E it’s not always a good thing.

5) What is your perfect day together?
Taking the dogs and a picnic to the field or taking the dogs to our favourite beach at Charlestown Cornwall.

6) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Eds response – what is the obvious?
Everything really!

7) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
We always wanted a marquee wedding so that was our only stipulations. The rest we just wanted natural country style wedding with real flowers and lots of Pimms.

8) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process, that you could pass on to future bride’s reading this blog?  
We’re both quite laid back, we both kept getting asked if we were nervous, and neither of us we’re. We just smiled throughout the whole day, and it wasn’t a forced smile. Don’t let little things bother you for example our mirror stand broke no one told me an when we got to the venue they’d fixed it but I said I don’t know why you worried there’s nothing you could of done, some brides would have really been bothered but if there’s nothing you can do to change it don’t let it affect you.
Oh and enjoy every single moment, one of my work friends said it’s the only party you’ll ever go to where you know every single person! So really there’s nothing to be worried about.

9) When searching, what were you were looking for in a wedding venue? 
Finding the venue was the hardest bit, we looked in Cornwall but knew the old grannies would struggle. So we started looking for places near home. After deciding on the church both our parents got married in and we were both christened in, which is also our parish church! I got to Kateshill and knew it was the right place for us!

10) Could you tell me the process you went through when you were looking for a wedding photographer?
We met Duncan loved his work, and a work friend had recommended him to us, we wanted a laid back approach and that’s what we got!
