A magical day for wedding photography in Stratford-upon-Avon

This was my first wedding in the UK since we moved back from Cyprus and it turned out to be one of the most special weddings I have ever been to. Sammi & Nik are lovely people with a special aura about them. I only had a couple of video chats with them prior to the wedding, but when I arrived on the day, everything was very calm and normal, as if I had known Sammi for years.
The theme of the wedding could be viewed as “Old World Charm” as the locations were historic and romantic in nature. The theme also carried over to even the bride’s dress, shoes and hairstyle. It was all soft and romantic. The venues made it easy to fulfill my duties as a reportage wedding photographer. The beautiful settings allowed for natural-type wedding photos for the gleaming couple. Being unobtrusive is the job of reportage wedding photographers. Photos are to be candid and natural not posed and forced. When you have aesthetic surroundings, then it’s easy to point and click without having to “set the photo up”.
I started at the Shakespeare Hotel located in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon, a historic market town. It was such a gorgeous period hotel as it was an authentic period piece dating back to the 1400’s.
Happiness and excitement ensued as Sammi’s two little girls were giggly, entertaining themselves while the adults did makeup and hair. Emotions were running high that day as they were all fighting back the tears when Sammi saw her dad for the first time.
[singlepic id=2142 w=320 h=240 float=right]The actual wedding ceremony took place in Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall which is wonderful a mix of history and romance. Nik, was decidedly nervous prior to Sammi walking down the aisle. however, this all melted away once proceedings got underway. After the ceremony, they all enjoyed champagne in the Town Hall while they waited for their double decker bus to whisk them to the reception which took place at the Baraset Barn. It is situated just outside the town of Stratford-upon-Avon and is actually a traditional barn which was converted into a great country pub and restaurant. My Stratford wedding photography skills came easy as the atmosphere was filled with happiness and enjoyment. I joined them on the bus ride where the festivities and silliness continued. The constant laughter and genuine joy of everyone was truly contagious. Any Warwickshire wedding photographer would have been envious by the amount of fun I was having and the wedding photography I was able to achieve. It didn’t feel like work whatsoever!
