Rachel & Darren are great friends with Jessica & David, a beautiful couple whose wedding I had the privilege to photograph back in 2012 in Solihull. Since then, Jess has been fantastic and has championed me to all her friends getting married ever since. For which I will be forever grateful! However, it was not a difficult decision to make when being asked to be Rachel & Darren’s Wedding Photographer at Nailcote Hall. This is an absolutely gorgeous venue that any Wedding Photographer in the West Midlands would jump at the chance to cover.
Thank you so much for trusting me to cover your special day. Congratulations Rachel & Darren!
1) Please tell me how you first met? The what, when, where’s and how’s?
University Pub Crawl for UCE, Broad Street 2005. Exchanged numbers half way up Broad Street and hooked up six months later
2) When was it you knew they were the one? Was is something in particular they did?, Did they grind you down? (joke) etc. etc.
Daz – the day I won a bottle of Vodka at the Hobs Meadow and left it outside Rachel’s car as a gift
Rachel – After going out for a few dates with Daz and then meeting the family that meant commitment to me then the relationship grew from there. I did also ask / tell Daz i was fed up of dating and we would make a go of this
3) Could you give us the story of the proposal? Please leave out no details… (Was it a surprise?, Was it elaborate?, How did it make you feel?)
Moor Hall, August 2013.
Booked over night stay and proposed in the garden grounds, although purchased the wrong ring by mistake
4) Please share what you most love about each other?
Rachel – Daz is really caring and romantic when he wants to be. Just how much we understand each other and when to avoid each other.
Daz – Generosity and tough skinned approach to life
5) If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me something quirky, funny or silly about your partner? Little habits, something they do…
Daz – Rachel believes no one else can do the housework better than herself and can start an argument with a brick wall,
Rachel – Daz still tries to dress like a youth with his dodgy caps and tracksuit bottoms
6) What is your perfect day together? (apart from the wedding day)
Safari and Zoos
Beach days with Dexter (the dog)
7) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Family and friends coming together to celebrate the day and party
8) There are so many different wedding styles you can choose from. What is your favourite wedding trend at the moment?
Traditional wedding
9) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
Rachel wanted the hotels surroundings (countryside) and incorporate a Pastel theme.
10) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process?
Wedding list decisions and booking a Z-lister celebrity to surprise Rachel with. Stavros and The Wealdstone Raider were both banned.
