1) Please tell me how you first met?
We met in a pub in Earlsdon after one of Lee’s female friends asked Lucy’s group of friends in the toilets if she could introduce us to her group as she had a lovely single friend!
2) When was it you knew they were the one?
We went for coffee in Starbucks the next day and I knew she was the one for me when I saw what made her smile. Such a young warm heart that made me smile when she did. Full of joy and full of love. Lucy had to drive to Solihull on the first date which she wasn’t keen on but he was so attentive and made me laugh. He still does. He also gave up smoking for a date!
3) Could you give us the story of the proposal?
We have been going on holiday to Ibiza with all of Lee’s family every year since we had been together 3 months! We went back to our favourite taverna in the hills of Valverde for Chateau Briande and pink champagne.
Lee arranged for our niece, Ellie, to sing ‘All of Me’ by John Legend while he got down on one knee under the moonlight.
4) If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me something quirky, funny or silly about your partner?
There have been many funny stories (some far too embarrassing for this blog, hey Lee!) but one funny story is how he carried the engagement ring around in a tissue and small pot in his bum bag for 2 weeks in Ibiza before proposing on our anniversary. On a trip to a small cove, Lee had refused to go snorkelling at the same time as he didn’t want to leave the bag (and the uninsured ring!) So lee decided to leave the plastic tissue filled pot with the ring on top of a rock in the sea! Luckily, it was still there after snorkelling!
5) What is your perfect day together?
Either lying all day on our own beach, watching the sun setting with a cocktail or a fun-filled day at a water park!
6) Apart from the obvious, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Listening to Each other’s vows whilst looking into each other’s eyes.
7) What was it that inspired you to go for the theme or the decor you chose for your wedding?
The venue itself! We knew when we saw it, that it was perfect for our woodland fairytale.
8) Please tell me one thing you wish you had known at the beginning of your wedding planning process, that you could pass on to future bride’s reading this blog?
To start earlier! We had 2 years and thought we had ages and now it has flown by!
9) When searching, what were you were looking for in a wedding venue?
We were so indecisive! At first we wanted a huge, grand venue but in the end, we realised it’s who is around us that matters.
10) Could you tell me the process you went through when you were looking for a wedding photographer?
We knew as soon as Lucy’s brother, Mark and new wife, Sophie showed us their photos that there really wasn’t any other photographer for us!
